※ Please Submit the video recording as a video of yourself singing K-Pop or singing and dancing at
the same time, only dancing are unacceptable
※ As an individual or a team is possible. Write all team member’s name in an application form,
submit the information collection and use consent form, ID, certificate of enrollment individually.
Ⅰ Contest Overview
1. Contest Name: Global Festival, “Born to be a K-Pop Star”
2. Host: Yeungnam University
3. Organizer: International Cooperation Team, Office of International Affairs
4. Eligibility Criteria: Open to foreign students currently enrolled in high school,
college, or university, whether in Korea or abroad.
5. Contest Format
- Preliminary round: Select finalists after online (recorded video) screening
- Finals: Real-time contest (on/offline) for those who passed the preliminary round
※ The online finals will be conducted for finalists living overseas.
If you are a domestic finalist and cannot participate on-site, you can participate online.

2. Preliminary Round Application Procedure
a. Application method: Submit the attached application form along with a video
recording of yourself singing a K-Pop song, all via email.
b. Email : intl@yu.ac.kr (International Cooperation Team, YU)
c. Submission Deadline: Until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, 12th April, 2024 (KST)
d. Submission Material
- One (1) copy of application form (attached form 1)
- One (1) copy of information collection and use consent form (attached form 2)
- ID card (Copy of passport, however, domestic residents can replace it with ARC
to check your nationality)
- Certificate of enrollment (to check you are a student)
- One (1) copy of video recording (within 3 minutes)
※ Videos can be any type that can be played on a PC, such as avi, mpeg4, mov., etc.
e. Preliminary Results Announcement: Scheduled for 5:00 p.m., April 22, 2024 (KST).
3. Schedule and Procedure of Finals
a. How to proceed: Online + offline in parallel
※ Online is exclusively available only for overseas residents, however, if a domestic finalist
unable to participate on-site due to inevitable reasons may granted an exceptional
participation online.
b. Time and Date: 2:00 ~ 5:00 p.m., 24th May, 2024 (KST)
c. Venue: Lee Siwon Convention Hall, Chunma Art Center, Yeungnam University,
Republic of Korea
d. The detailed schedule will be announced separately once the finalists are
determined.
